What Machines can be used as a Laptop Printer?

If you own some type of laptop computer, you may be interested in using a laptop printer with it at some point. Most laptops come with a USB port. This is where most of the printers today will connect. The laptop can use any printer that has the right type of connection for the ports it has. There are a few variations in the models of printers available. A standard full size unit can include a copy/fax and scan feature. This is helpful in an office or business setting because it allows the person to do many procedures using only one machine. These printers are generally very large and not easily moved from one location to another.

There is also the basic home printer, which is made by most well known companies such as Canon and HP. These are much smaller than the full size office units are, but are still not small enough to be considered portable. While you could conceivably pick them up and move them to a new location, it is often clumsy and awkward to do it on a regular basis. People that use laptops for their computing generally do so because they like having the mobility the machine allows them to have. For those individuals that have two types of computers in their home, both desktop and laptop, it isn’t that difficult to use the printer with both machines.

There are several small or portable printers available from the major manufactures as well. This works best as a laptop printer because it can easily fit inside a large tote bag or briefcase to take along with the laptop. The styles for this model vary and some only have basic printing functions for black and white while others are specifically designed for doing photos. The easily plug into the USB port on the laptop and can print in varying speeds of about 18 to 30 pages per minute. The portable style is great for people that travel for business and like the accessibility of printing from their laptop wherever they might be.
