The TRIA® system was the first home laser hair removal device to become FDA approved and it uses the same technology that you will find at a professional hair removal clinic. The device comes with 5 heat settings to ensure that you are getting the best results for your hair type and a battery charger. The package also includes a skin sensor so that the device can distinguish between hair and skin pigments. The treatment will take anywhere from 8-12 months based on the hair and skin color. After a couple of months you will start to notice a difference.
Silk’n® uses a light source technology that allows their device to sense a broader range of hair colors. This device also has a skin sensor built into it along with a sensor that only allows the device to only work when it is touching the skin. This hair removal system also uses a lower level of heat than that of a laser based device. The Silk’n® also has a bigger spot size allowing you to target a larger area and complete a session in less time. This device does have a lamp that will need to be replaced periodically. The device is recommended to be used twice a month for about 4 months then about once a month until you have the results you want. This treatment could take up to 2 years.
At-home laser hair removal devices are growing very rapid today and to ensure your safety you should use each device as instructed or consult your doctor if you have concerns or side effects from using them. Both of these devices are effective for hair removal for men and women. It is only recommended to use any product that has been passed by the FDA for safety any other device that is not cleared by the FDA you will use at your own risk.
