I will be frank with you, I am a horse shoer, one of precious few women in my business, and get just about as rough on my skin as any one person can be( man woman or child). I suffer burns, contusions, lacerations, scrapes, and wind chapping galore. My skin care treatment is almost automatic to me, and I think that if I wasn’t good about keeping my skin in good repair it would be so bad, I might even resemble a lizard. Take a moment and consider that your skin has needs too, regardless of how busy you are, and needs quality skin care treatment.
All of Us Outside Women
I am outdoors from sun up to sun down. Think I catch many UV rays? Not a one, I wear SPF 45 sunscreen in the winter and SPF 75 in the scorching heat. If you think that is a little excessive consider that my skin is so white that bats won’t look at me, and I burn even on a cloudy day. I once burnt right through a white tee shirt, so that tells you what an effect the sun has on your skin. I would personally just as soon not take any chances and don’t want to look like a piece of beef jerky in my later years. Then there is the skin cancer, I am too busy and work too much to have time for skin cancer.
Anyone Who Works in a Dry Environment
Your skin is absolutely not meant to take forced air, so if you are reading this thinking “ha, I work in a cushy office, that doesn’t apply to me”, think again. Air conditioning sucks tons of moisture out of the air, and baseboard heat does the very same thing to your workplace environment. Your skin is a huge transfer point for moisture. If you are getting dry try to have a good moisturizer handy to solve the problem, and also if you are working inside in an office like that try to drink plenty of water. That will be a great way to help replenish your skin from within and keep you from having too many problems to be going on with. You really only get one skin, so no matter how you are abusing it try to find little ways to care for it even as you are busy and on the go. Skin care treatment is nothing to play around with.
