Reusable Furnace Filters vs. Disposable Furnace Filters

The times are quickly changing. Back in the days of our grandparents, most people reused things. There was a tin milk jug that kept getting reused. Our grandparents reused cloth baby diapers when they washed the cloths so they could put them on their babies once again.

However, now these are the days of use and throw out. We buy things again and again, and we throw things in the trash when we are finished. Few of us wonder where our trash ends up when all is said and done.

Since this is the trend, many people may not consider an alternative to disposable furnace filters. While furnace users continue to throw those filters away, it may not even cross their minds that they could save more money and have better air quality if they simply looked into purchasing reusable furnace filters.

Many people continue to buy disposable furnace filters because they are so inexpensive. However, they constantly need to be replaced. Every six to eight weeks the consumer must go out and purchase a new filter. Some recommend replacing filters at least once per month.

With a reusable furnace filter, you don’t have to keep buying things over and over again. It’s a way to kind of get back to the times of our grandparents. It’s reusing, which correlates to saving more money over a period of time. There are reusable furnace filters that last for the lifetime of the furnace, and it’s easy to find cheaper reusable furnace filters if you just do a simple web search. You may find some that aren’t that much more expensive than disposable filters.

So, let’s get back to what our grandparents did: Reusing our products and saving the hassle of going to the store over and over again to repurchase things. That goes for furnace filters too.
