Plastic Storage Boxes Make Organization Easy

I, for one, do not know how I would keep things in my home organized without the use of plastic storage boxes.  I have found that they are extremely helpful when it comes to organizing things around my home.  They are available in many different sizes, shapes and colors and you can use them to help organize many different home projects.  For example, they can be used for kids storage, to organize a wardrobe, a bedroom, a kitchen and even a garage.  Most plastic boxes are quite cheap too.  If you are not already using them, here are a few tips for you.

Sewing Supplies: While I am not a seamstress by any means, I do have a couple of small clear plastic storage boxes where I keep all of my sewing items. This particular set of three storage boxes has a handle on top so I can easily move it from room to room.  I put all of my smaller items in the top draw such as needles, pins, thimbles and buttons. In the middle draw I have all of my thread, lace and elastic. Finally my sewing supplies, such as scissors, thimble, glue, and sewing machine accessories are in the bottom draw.  Being so small, it does not take up much room at all and thus I am able to store it wherever it is most convenient for me. Of course, if you sew a lot you may need more space than I have for supplies but even so you could still invest in a larger set of boxes.  A satchel box with removable trays or a bin prism would work well for your buttons and other supplies. Clear storage boxes made from plastic are also great for quilting supplies, and sewing supplies, as you can see instantly what is stored inside the boxes. I have found that they are generally very long lasting also, and highly portable.

Underwear and Socks: I have lived in an apartment for a long time, and for much of that time had little other furniture in my bedroom than my bed, a television and a small closet.  If you saw my room, and did not know me, you would probably think I was a bachelor. Before I bought a dresser and wardrobe, I purchased a three drawer box to store my socks, bras and underwear which fit neatly inside my small closet. So, if you do not have a very large closet and you need extra space for clothing items, you could always look into a three drawer plastic storage unit. They also are great for students’ college dorms too.  You can find them with wheels, which is an added convenience if you want to move it around within your bedroom.

Art supplies: As anyone who has children can confirm, they love to collect art supplies of all kind.  I love my children having access to art supplies as they need to express their creativity. However, finding space to neatly store those supplies is sometimes a problem.  If you have a lot of paints, crayons and chalk you may want to invest in a deep storage box. They have some that have dividers inside, which help keep supplies organized. If they do not have dividers, you can always buy some separately. Art supply organizing boxes are perfect for paints and crayons, as well as other craft items.  Being able to keep all art supplies in one place really does help keep things organized and neat.
