I work in IT for a living and I use an XP notebook and I can’t begin to tell you how many people come and ask me where they can get a Windows XP notebook. When I noticed how many people were asking me I did a bit of research and found out that a ton of people online were also looking for the same thing. Today we’re going to look at a few reasons why buying one of the available Windows XP notebooks is such a good idea.
A lot of people don’t realize how much faster of a computer is required to run Windows Vista or Windows XP. XP notebooks don’t need to have as powerful of hardware. No matter what computer you have, if you installed Windows XP and Windows Vista to compare the two, the Windows XP will always be faster and provide higher benchmarks. Speed however is not the biggest reason that people actually want Windows XP, compatibility is also a big reason.
This is the number one reason why people and especially businesses want XP notebooks. If you have a laptop with Vista or Windows 7 I’m sure you’re familiar with looking for the little labels that companies put on their products that say “Vista compatible”. In many cases there aren’t even drivers available for a lot of the commercial computer devices such as copiers, scanners, and printers. This can create a huge problem for both businesses and families trying to get printers, etc that will actually work with their laptops.
Whether you want a Windows XP notebook for the speed, compatibility, or even familiarity, it’s a great type of laptop to have. Windows XP notebooks are unfortunately getting a lot harder to find these days with Microsoft making a big push to get Windows 7 into more consumers hands. I’m however a big fan of Windows XP and until there becomes a bigger push to get some compatibility with Windows 7 and Vista.
