Emotion Comet Kayak: Inexpensive, Durable And Perfect For Fishermen.

I have several friends that love taking their kayak out to fish and since I have never owned one, I thought I would give it try. Since I am new to kayaking, I wanted something that was reasonable priced, non-inflatable and would fit in my small SUV. The one I bought had to fit in my Jeep, because I did not want to spend the money for a roof rack. I discovered the Emotion Comet and after reading the measurements, figured it would fit perfectly if I put the seats down.

I did a great deal of research, but the Emotion Comet had all of the features I wanted and at a little over 8 feet, it fit in my Jeep. As soon as I got the Comet, I put the seats down and loaded it up to go to the lake. I was by myself, so I was nervous about kayaking for the first time alone, but it was so stable that my nervousness quickly subsided.

As I said, I wanted the comet kayak for fishing and I am not disappointed, it is perfect for my needs. When I bought the kayak, I also purchased a Scotty rod holder that came with a clamp, for the kayak. For everything I bought, I spent under $350 and from what I found when researching, this package save me hundreds.

If you intend to paddle with others, the Comet Kayak isn’t the quickest there is, but since I prefer to fish by myself, the quickness isn’t an issue. I was really surprised at how stable the Comet kayak is, especially when handling waves and leaning.

The local sporting goods stores in my area have problems keeping the Emotion’s Comet Kayak in stock because it was given an award in 2010 for the Outside Gear of the Year and sells quick. The kayak is very durable and good quality, but sells for a great price. Fishermen will like the kayak and rod holder combination.
