Once your little one is comfortable and in-frame, take his photo from slightly above him. Make sure that your baby is the only one in the display. Don’t take photos of stuffed toys, etc., unless you need one to keep him happy. Move around so that you can photo your baby from different angles. As you photograph your baby, make sure that the background doesn’t detract from the focus on your baby. If you’re using a digital camera, take lots of photos. You can pick and choose the best ones later. If your photos look out of focus when you check them in the display, relax your arms and take more pictures, until you have a feel for getting baby photography in-focus. You may also move to a lighter area, which will make it easier to get photographs in focus.
