If you live in a big city like I do than you probably don’t have a very big house. But I really love dogs and that is why is chose to take a dog although I could not give him a lot of space in my house. Because every dog needs a place to sleep and relax I decided to buy him a dog bed. Nowadays you don’t want to sleep your dog on a simple sheet or cheap basket, you want to give him some quality so he can enjoy his own small place.
Well let me tell you that there are a lot of different dog beds to choose from, you probably can’t imagine how many. So I asked the owner of the pet store to give me some more advice. He asked me how old my dog was and how big. He asked me because younger dogs will play more in the garden (or on the streets) and also like to chew on anything. If you have a younger dog than you need a dog bed that will not tear when he will chew on it. As where older dogs sometimes need some extra comfort like heated dog beds or orthopedic dog beds. Sometimes older dogs are not well able to take good care for their skin anymore and even for that they have specific fleeces to put over your dog bed.
Because I have a smaller house he advised me to look for corner dog beds because these tend to fill up less space. It is good knowing there are so many options and that a dog bed can be designed specially for a specific type of dog. Although some dog beds give a little bit too much comfort to a dog, it is surely good to know what the options are.
